Summary: 4 poker rooms on the strip for 8 hours each

Content: Arrived Friday morning and sat down at the Harrah's room about 8AM. Far and away the least comfortable seats of any of the rooms I was in this weekend. A lot of back and forth until noon when I left about even and checked in.

After a quick lunch I am off to the Venetian for a little 2/5 NL. Most interesting hand I had there had me on the button and a guy who had shown up at the table 30 minutes prior and was trying to bulldoze his way to riches. On the previous hand he got me to lay down 2nd pair to a huge bet of his that seemed to be a bluff. On the hand in question, 5 limpers to the flop. The flop is 3,4,5 rainbow. Checks around to the villain who raises to 50, I look at my cards again to verify my 6,7 and raise him to 150, it folds back to the villain. He puts me all in for another 150 and I insta-call and he turns over 5,5. Board doesn't pair and he is crippled. I actually get to felt the guy a few hands later.

Saturday morning I played a few satellites at the RIO. NOTE: if you are going to play the satellites in the morning at Rio, dress warmly as it is freezing in there. I am guessing they are doing that to increase the sweat shirt sales or something, but it is cold. Chopped my first $175 satellite with one other guy and went out 3rd in a $525 satellite after an A-hole wouldn't chop, even on true %, after we got down to three people.

Saturday afternoon I put in a few more hours at Harrah's where I was mostly card dead, but managed to walk out about even after I gave up waiting for good cards and just started bluffing at orphan pots.

Sunday morning I am off to try Planet Hollywood after reading so many good things about it on this site. The room is nice, chairs are comfortable, and you aren't in there likes sardines like at Bellagio. Most notable hand here was when UTG goes all in for $150, 3rd to act follows with his own all in for about $10 more and it folds to me in the small blind. Ahhh....the stuff dreams are made of. I look down at my cards and get a napkin to wipe up the drooling that has started. Pocket A's. I go all in and have them covered. Four hearts on the board and the second all in had QQ including the Q of hearts. Made it all the more painful for him when I showed the A of hearts. First to act never showed, just mucked his cards and walked off cursing. I really enjoyed this room. The only negative is that because this room has high hand jackpots, some players were playing more for the jackpot than the table pot.

Since I have always done well there, I decided to put in a shift at Bellagio. Second hand there I am in the big blind and it limps around to me with 7-8o. Flop comes 4-5-6 rainbow. My second big blind special of the day. Checks around to the button who raises to 40, and I reraise to 200, which puts him all in and he calls. He turns over 6-3, and never gets close. Had a table right next to Bobby's room and got to watch several pro's playing in there (most notably was Sammy Farha). Seemed to be a 500/1000 limit game.

Never had a high pair cracked the entire weekend that I played aggressively. I tried to limp with K's once on an aggressive table and wound up letting them go after no pre-flop raises and a 3 clubs on the flop.

All in all, the most comfortable rooms were Planet Hollywood and Venetian. I could see playing long sessions in either of these rooms.
