Trip Report Vegas Feb 22-26 Date: 02/27/07 Player: Sydsdad For Rooms: Orleans,Sahara,Venetian, Summary: Played Trny's and cash at the Venitian, Caesars, Sahara and the Orleans. Content: I was card-dead the first couple of days, not able to make any hands or moves....played at least one trny per day during my trip and filled in with $1-2 NL cash. I have to say this site was invaluable in planning my trip. I would have wasted a lot of time searching out where to play in Vegas if I hadn't followed your advice. The Venitian Poker Room is simply THE BEST! I was a little peeved about having to start the Sat 12 noon Trny in the casino with an old lady playing a penny slots not 2 feet behind me, but was moved inside the main poker room within a hour as tables started breaking down. An interesting hand I played in a $1-2 cash game at the Sahara Sunday night....the biggest pot I won on the trip. I was dealt pocket 8's in the BB....UTG raises to $12 and gets three other callers, myself included. Flop comes out 855 and UTG goes all-in for approx. $70. An old guy in a cowboy hat, who had been taking more than his share of pots the previous hour or so calls and the other person in the hand goes all-in for approx. $150. I go all-in for about $195 and the cowboy/old guy calls. The cowboy had pocket K's and the other two had a 5. The turn ond river were blanks and I raked over $500....the look on the old guy's face was priceless! Played many trny's while in Vegas...my two best finishes were at the Orleans where I finished in the money at 18th out of 286, cashing $325. I played the $550 Ventian 12 noon Saturday (10000 starting chips/40 min blinds) and finshed just out of the money at 39th out of 303 players (It paid 27 places. A little disappointed with this one...was running very well the first 8 hours of the trny...winning the hands I was supposed to...avoiding the bad-beats.....but then the cards went dead and I was being blinded out of the trny. Took a stand with my last 20K in chips with AK suited and was eliminated by AQ off when a Q spiked on the flop. Unfortunately, I didn't make any money on the trip this time but it sure was a lot of fun. |
