Headed to Vegas for the first time last Sunday. Before going recieved lots of great advice on this site for which tournaments to play in my buy in range. I should have stuck to what I wanted to do before heading down....
Arrived late as my plane was delayed 3 hours....sat in the Detroit airport bar and had to many drinks..lol
Stayed at the Tropicana, nice hotel for the price we got. Headed out to see Vegas and ended up at a Pai Gow table till 9am..again to many drinks so missed playing in the Ceasars $130.00 tournament. Headed to the Luxor casino about 5pm. Joined the 1-2 no limit table...after 12 hours made many friend and the dealers were great. Can not remember them making a mistake and the atmoshpere was great at our table. Played for most of the night with almost the same goup of people and had a blast. iliked the buy in of $50.00 max, realyy it was a $99.00 max buy in because as sonn as you post your small blind you can rebuy. Had a nice mix of good players and not so good players. The not so good players were easy to spot and donated much of my winnings. Best hand I remember is when I had pocket jacks, I bet one caller. He was the aggressive guy that wasn't really good. Flop came J,7,3. I lead out, he calls. Turn come K, I bet out he just calls. River is a 7..great my full house I bet half the pot, he raises me all in.. I of course call. He turns cards over first holding A,3. I wish I could have played every hand against him.
Played at the Luxor once more against realitvly the same people and had another good session. Over all up about $600.00 playing poker, but lost all of it playing 3 card poker and Pai Gow. Lesson for me is to just play poker next time, oh well had a great time and will be back very soon.
