Not much poker, but a lot of fun

For Rooms: Binion's,Hooters,

Summary: Poker = losing. Slot machine = winning.

Content: Went to Vegas with the intentions of having myself a little poker vacation. Well, a few shows, some sightseeing and some heavy-duty wandering limited my action.

First off, I was staying at the Hooters, which was a great decision. $30/night and a great location. They have a morning tourney, which I played in once, but it's a rebuy tourney, so when they broke a table, we got a guy with like exponentially more chips than anybody at my tighter table.

I also played some 1-2 NL there as well. I think I may have been the fish the first night, but settled down after about an hour, only to begin my comeback about 2 hands before the table broke. My last night there I played an over-nighter. Sat down around 1 am and went to the room at about 6:15. Walked out even and had a lot of fun.

The only hand I do remember was the difference between a good trip and a great one. I get 33 in position and call a small raise looking to make a real hand. Bingo, flop runs out 753os. EP pushes in a raise and I insta-move all in. Well, the guy playing 46 gets paid and I go home.

Final day of the trip, checkout is at noon. Guess who hits an $1,173 slot payout at 10:45. Excellent. I actually turned a gambling profit for once.

Thank you all for the advice I never got to use.
