Well my first trip to vegas, and the first time I have every played in a casino. So I arrived in Vegas on Monday 12/19 I went to the Bellagio to catch the final 3 table of the WPT 5 Diamond classic. There was alot of the big stars still in the tournment. I then went to the Tropicana, where I was staying, and got in on there 7pm tournment. There was 19 players, not a bad structure, and plenty of chips. They only pay the top two spots. I finished 5th not a bad result for the first tournment.
Tuesday I went to Caesars Palace for the noon tournment. I made it through the first break but was card dead. I was soon knocked out.
Wedesday, I went to the Imperial Palace for there 2 pm tournment, I limped in with ACEs and the big blind raised. So I reraise and he went all in and I called. He had Queens, the ACEs held up, I was chip leader from then on. I won the tournment.
Thursday, I went downtown, and played the 10am tournment at Binion's. Played tight and slowly built so chips up. Went all in with A J with a Ace on the board and a jack on the turn. Two callers, one with a pair and the other with two pair. My hand held and I took the chip lead. I that point I was picking off the short stacks. Got to heads up with a slight chip lead and went all in with A Q , however he had Kings. The kings helded. I was soon out in 2nd. I then went over to the Golden Nugget and played the 3pm tournment. I was card dead and was knocked out in 8th.
After taken a rest I played 1/2 NL cash game at the tropicana. WOW there was some really bad players. One said " I have to protect my ACE" he had A 3 outsuit. I adjusted and made about $250 in four hours.
Overall I was pleased by my play, I only made a couple of mistakes. I think when I go back I will play more cash games.
