Couple of Tourneys...
Date: 11/11/06
Player: Javi
For Rooms: Fitzgeralds,Hooters,

Summary: First poker experience, learned a lot in just two tourneys. Fitz/Hooters

Content: I recently came back from Vegas. On 11/7 I went to the 9pm NL Hold'em tourney; my first real live tournament. $35 buy in. I used the $15 addon for 1500 in chips. The chips were the cheapest I've ever seen or possessed at home. The poker room review on this site is dead-on. Filled with a couple locals; the tournament capped at about 30 people.

I went out with about 18 people remaining as I wanted to see what live tournament play was all about. Caught me by surprise a bit, but in the end I figured out that I didn't play nearly enough hands to keep up with the ups o the blinds.

Blinds started at 25/25, then 25/50, 50/100, then a break after an hour. Goes up from there.

The next morning (11/8) - I went to the Hooters tournament that started at $25 ($5 for 700 addon)
with a $15 rebuy. About 28 people. Tied for 1st as the other guy chopped the pot with me. I took the mistakes I made in the last tournament and used that as a great learning experience. Took $330.

Regular poker action at both tournaments were dead.
