Came into town to visit family for the weekend. As such, most of my time was spent fullfilling family obligations. Was able to make some short quickie visits the Hilton, Wynn, Venetian, and Monte Carlo, as these were incorporated into outings with the family. I suggested visits to the Hilton so the kids could partake of their Star Trek scene, while I made a quick dash to the poker room, hoping to hit one of their high hand jackpots. Lo and behold, I hit quad 10's for $80. Gave most of it back trying to chase other high hand jackpots.
Utilized the scenery/ambiance of the Wynn and the Venetian to attack their poker rooms. Luckily for me, I was placed at a table at both places with all local "rocks". Knowing this, I rarely ventured into very many hands. Kind of boring but less dangerous to your bankroll. Does teach you to hone in on being patient.
Monte Carlo was the last stop only because I schmoozed my family into letting me go. Nice room and am attracted to their high hand jackpots, which are, by the way progressive, so they continue to add to the amount until hit. Played again with mostly locals who were there mainly to socialize. Did see one young gun who routinely raised preflop. Said he had been playing all night. Pretty drunk and a little obnoxious. Also had a mountain of chips in front of him. Most of the locals were gunning for him, but could not catch anything on their draw. He would end up winning a huge pot with a single pair. Just envious I guess. Lost a few $$ so I was able to keep my bankroll intact for another day.
