Summary: 35 hours of poker in three days. Mostly 4/8 limit. (long)

Content: In Vegas 2/22-2/25 to play poker, blackjack, a little craps, so I thought. Didn't play one hand of blackjack or any craps! Couldn't tear myself away from the poker tables. I won't bore you with hand by hand details just some of my major session totals. Landed in Vegas Wednesday night at about 9:00PM. Still on NY time was a bit tired but no way I was going right to sleep my first night in Sin City.

Started at my homebase, The Wynn. Unbelievable room. Phil Ivey was playing at the high limit tables with $10 million in front of him. That is not a typo! While I'm playing 4/8 limit, Phil is playing 10,000/20,000 50 feet away from me, pretty awesome. In my 6 sessions at the Wynn ended up +330 for about 15 hours of play.

Headed to the Paris on the morning of day 2. This was my fourth time in Vegas and for some reason I like the atmosphere in Paris, so although the reviews of the Paris "Room" on this site have been less than stellar I had to play there. Only spreading a table of $3/$6 limit and a table of $1/$2 NL at 11:00AM so I sat at the 3/6 table. Four hours later I was up an unbelievable $400!! I was getting unconscious cards. For any new player reading this here is one huge piece of advice: You cannot bluff at $4/$8 or below limit games. You will always have 3-4 callers per hand. If you play tight/aggressive at these tables YOU WILL WIN. Tons of tourists just waiting to catch that card in the river like on TV. I did give $100 back the next morning before my tournament (later). Paris: 2 sessions, 5 hours, +300.

Had to head down to Binions. Played for an hour at $2/$4 limit. Only a few tables running, mostly low limit, local players. Finished +62

Spent 4 hours on a Friday night at The Mecca. Saw Jenn Harmon in Bobby's Room with her significant other. Only poker celebrity I spotted there. Again played $4/$8 limit with mostly tourists and ended up +140. Awesome room.

Hit the Mirage my last day and played for 2 hours ending up +80. Another great poker room.

Tounaments:
Paris $70 buy-in, finished middle of the pack, quick blinds, better get good cards! -$70

Aladdin $110 buy-in, best structured tourney I played in. 20 minute (vs. 15min) blinds. The only thing that is a littla shakey is the unlimited re-entry for the first hour. You could show up 55 minutes late and buy-in! This must be posted in the fine print somewhere! I ended up getting quad kings during the tourney, although I did eliminate a player, I would have won $586 for a high hand jackpot if I was playing a ring game! Finished about 20th out of 70. -$110

Monte Carlo Sit 'n Go $50 buy in, finished 5th, -$50

Luxor $63 buy-in, got good cards, finished 3rd, won $262. +199

Tourney's overall: -$32

Also played at Excalibur, (I hated this room, smokey, dirty, but good for very low limit games), Mandalay Bay (nice small room, although the 1/2 kill is a different twist).

Overall I would have say the Wynn room just beats out the Bellagio and the Mirage rooms just because of the electronic wait lists. I can't believe the state of the art rooms like Bellagio and Mirage still use clipboard waiting lists.

Total Ring Games: +999

Poker Total: +967!!

I want thank everyone for their reports on this site as they were an invaluable resource while my trip.

Viva Las Vegas!!
