Hooters & Palace Station
Date: 02/07/06
Player: coloradoholdem
For Rooms: Hooters,
Summary: Hooters and Locals
Content: Started off by playing some poker at Palace Station. I got there about noon and all they had going was $4/$8 with 1/2 kill and a $3/$6 Omaha H/L. I sat down at a new 4/8 table with what seemed like 9 locals. Everyone knew everyone by name, except for me but if this is how the locals play I just might have found heaven. I think I was the only player not a member of AARP. It turned out to be a great game. It was really easy to read these players and they called down with any pair it seemed. Overall I liked the room. Dealers were ok. They weren't outstanding but they weren't that bad. Floor was good and drink service seemed to be steady. The one thing I didn't like, and this is a small gripe, were the tables. I tend not to like the tables with the wood ring around just inside the rail with the cup holders built into the tables. Minor thing but thought it should be stated. Comps seemed ok. I think it was $1/hr.
After a few hours of poker at Palace Station and a quick rest, I decided to head down to check out the new Hooters Casino. I can sum up the whole place in one word - Horrible! I had never been to the old place (San Remo I think?) and now I can see why. I was expecting at least a few good looking Hooter's girls but most were ehhhh. A long long line to get into the Hooters restaurant. The poker room has 3 tables in a room smaller than my living room. They were running 2 NL games and 1 stud. I had no intention of staying so I didn't even ask the stakes. I have seen all I need to see and will never be back here, unless I get really drunk and crave good wings!
