Mirage and Harrah's poker room
Date: 01/18/06
Player: mufasa413
For Rooms: Harrah's,Mirage,

Summary: 4 days three nights..

Content: Basically Im not gonna tell u all the things you dont need to know like what i ate and who i did that night or whatever.. Basically I go to vegas every four months and thought I would give my opnion on the Vegas trip I recentally went on.

Mirage..
Bought in for 200.. 1 2 no limit.. waited about 10 min to play on a weekend friday night right before dinner.. I recommend that if you want to get on a table quick on friday's, do so during dinner time, In other words if you see the line for the calinfornia kitchen getting long, head over to the card room. Newaz.. Believe it or not this was my first time playing live poker at the Mirage and couldnt be more impressed. It really has this poker feel atmosphere. Tables around each other, Chips shuffling, poker all day and night. The tables and chairs were quite comfortable.. I did get drinks fairly fast however, my bud light was warm!! so that sucked. Who likes hot beer? But back to the believe it or not.. I got dealt pocket aces from the first hand.. won about 75 dollars off that hand cause i had a caller with kings.. but was smart enough to back away after turn.. with another ace fell.. giving me trips.. It was a very good lay down on his part.. Played poker there for about 3 hrs and walked away.. 125 up..
OVerall.. this place rocks.. Ive been to every casino up and down the strip and I tend to always come back to the mirage..

Harrahs..
Nice and more casual than more mirage.. I wouldnt say casual but more like a sports book\sports book all in one.. Cause it really use to be part of the sports book.. So if u like sports this is the place. Limits are failry low here.. I decided to play in the sat 10 am tourney.. 40 dollar rebuy during 1st hr.. pretty good turn out of 100 players.. and pay out was top 9.. and 2000 dollars to first.. so that was nice..

I got to the final three tables and was unfortunitly beaten by a ace high flush, who was in the big blind.. slow playing.. a10. i flopped two pair. he hit nuts on flop.. so what do u do? lay it down!! right.. i didnt i pushed him all in.. and he caleld of course and i got knocked out..

The play here was fairly tight..
Not alot of great poker players i would say..
Just alot of conservative types.. people that play the cards and not the people..

Over all i like the mirage poker room better..
I have been to the belagio and wynn and do find those great as well, however my bankroll doesnt support that high of play so i tend to not go there..
