First attempt at a trip report. I'm not much for details and hands stack size etc. Just dont remember stuff like that.
Left Bay Area on 8/19. Original plan was to drive my 'new" 66 Pontiac down, but after blowing out the brakes pulling into a gas station that plan was scrapped. Drive took a little over 7 hours. I go to Vegas about 5 times a year to blow off steam and paly a bit of poker. Checked into the Hard Rock HRH. I always stay there but unfortunately their poker room is a shell of its formr self.
Played poker the first time Sunday at the Strat. I cashed earlier there this year so thought I would try it again. Don't think I'll go back. It was more like bingo than poker. One guy rebought 4 times in the first hour. Players calling 2 all ins with ace high and pairing their 10 on the river to win. I got crippled early when my AA got all in against KK and of course a K on the flop. Probably would have ran deep if I survived that. Out shortly when I pushed with AK and ran into aces.
I had a few friends with me so we went ove rto Gilley's for bikini bullriding. I feel it's important to add a little culture to my trips. It was'nt bad. Girls riding the bull in their undies is great entertainment. The bull would pin them after they got thrown off and motorboat them. Great stuff :)
Played the Aria on tuesday and was impressed. Was pretty card dead and played bad. Rebought once and lasted about 5 hours. 87 entrants and I went out about 24. Dont remember alot of details. Players seemed a bit more aggrssive than at the V the times I played. Lots of regulars. Had a good time just palyed too weak and dissapointed with myself.
