Just got back from a Saturday through Tuesday poker assault. Played at several casinos. Here’s my thoughts:
Flamingo: small room, played 2/4; everyone played loose. Drink service was great! Won and loss on separate sessions. Small time (very amateur) players here… Played tourney here. Well organized.
Mirage: nice room, lots of tables. Played 3/6 and also won & loss on multiple sessions. Drink service was awful. Different types of players through the different sessions.
Bellagio: lost $100 at the 4/8 here…mostly because I played lousy. Very nice room with pictures from the WPT. If you go to Vegas, you must go here!
MGM: The nicest of the rooms by far! Electronic wait list is nice. Played some 4/8 and 1/2NL. 4/8 game was pretty good; not too loose or tight. NL was wild, as expected. Music going in the background helped the ambience. Wait was only long on Sat. night.
Mandalay Bay: fairly decent room, with a ½ kill pot. Didn’t like that rule too much. Won a little here but wasn’t worth the walk to the South Strip.
Imperial Palace: a complete dump of a room. Took one look and left without playing. No wonder they comp $3/hour!
Aladdin: nice room! Played a tourney and 3/6 here. My friend took 9th and won $100. I busted out after the break, from playing too tight. I would go here again. Nice players and dealers!
Wynn: Too upscale for me. Felt like James Bond should play here. Played 4/8 and table was really loose! Tons of re-raises. Got the impression some of the better players play here. Would not go to again unless I didn't care about losing.
