Flight and everything went well. Left Minneapolis at 7am (awake since 4:15) Landed in Vegas about 8:00 local time on Thursday.
I had a few problems with my first rental car, so I had to go exchange it before I even left the rental area at the airport. But that's fine, I'm now curently driving an almost new Saturn Aura. Very nice....
First stop the new 'M' Resort. I got directions from the attendant at the rental car place, but it would have been easier if she told me. 'Do you know where South Point is? The keeping going south, if you hit California, you went too far. Literally...
Very Nice Casino, obviously empty at that time of the morning. The poker room looked like on the best I seen in Vegas.
Next stop was going to be the new Eastside Cannary (aka the location of the old Nevada Palace) But as I trekked from very south western LV to the east side I rolled around the south side and stopped by Fiesta-Henderson and Joker's Wild for a little bit.
I made my first bet of the trip here as I used a $3.00 slots comp and hit the penny slots for Rebecca. I parlaied that into $12 'real' dollars and moved over to the Poi-gow table to a try. I quickly rolled that into $32 a headed off to the next stop.
I ran into Joker's Wild just to grab a players card and look at the place. Nice, really little but I scored a free t-shirt for signing up so early in the morning...
Eastside Cannery looks fantasic! It's huge inside well planned out. Appearly, I walked in the door behind a bus-load of bingo players and had to wait nearly 15 min. To get a player's card. I received a $5.00 slot comp here which I rolled into $13 on the forth pull and then lost it. I was so mad I walked out and almost forgot about the chips. So I quickly ran back in and found a nice cheap pai-gow table. I bought in for $50. After about 20 min. I was up to $73 and said I would cash out at $75. Well $75 never came and at one point $50, then $40 also went away. So 45 min later I ground it back to $57. And ran out the door in the black. One of the funniest things of the trip (so far) happened here. I had an elderly oriental dealer at the table to kept using the phase 'Win, Win Chicken Dinner.' It was close, but made it even more humorous.
Next stop, Arizona Charlie's East, I grabbed a quick players card. There was only one pai-gow table open and I don't think the dealer spoke much enlish, plus the table as a basic pai-gow, none of the bonuses or anything so I bought in for $50 grabbed a few newer and older $1 chips and quickly cashed out up $15 and ran out the door.
I stopped by Binion's to confirm my reservation, but my room wasn't ready so I headed to Hooter's to meet up with all the guys.
From here things get a little sketchy.
All I know I tought Jesse how to play pai-gow and then we played at ALOT of it.
I think round 1 (for me) was about 2 hours. Bought in for $100 ($10 min bet + bonuses) cashed out $125 after being in a DEEP hole.
Ran over to the Hooter's poker room, I mean poker TABLE in the corner... The $1/$2 NL, game was just barely running but there seemed to be alot drinking and lot of chips flying. This could be good or bad...
After about 4 times around the table I was only able to raise twice and see the flop about 6-7 times. Keep missing and the table was treating any piece like gold.
During conversation found out the guy to my left was from Marshall, MN.
I finally woke up with a hand! Pocket Queens I raise to $20 and the Big Blind pushes all-in on me and has be covered. Now this guy has been two-fisting Heinakins and scotch on the rocks the whole time I was sitting here. Table folded back to me and instant called and flipped my Queens. He tosses in Big Slick and I'm definately worried! FLOP: Q-K-A a pair of brnks and double up to about $160. The very next hand on my Button. I get A-Q and make it $15 to go. Get 2 callers. FLOP: Q-10-4 Early guy betting huge and then showing garbage bets $12 into a $48 pot. Other guy calls I hit for another $50. First guy folds. 2nd guy who chases everything slowly calls leaving himself only $17 left. I was out of turn, but I shoved my whole stack in...The dealer gave me a scolding but it wasn't going to change. he was going to just check to me, but instead tossed his remaining chips in. a brink on the river and he shows a busted broadway draw and I scoop another nice pot!
I'm liking the dealer Pete, finally got to see some cards. I tried a silent raise from the SB. Where I threw in a $5 chip to my already $1 sitting there and they called the one chip rule on me. I'm like how? I already one chip in play and I added another.... Well anyway. I had to go with the ruling. Well that worked now the whole damn table in this hand! FLOP: A-10-x. I lead out for $20 and EVERYONE couldn't fold fast enough!!! WOW.
Couple hands later I snag Pocket Kings on my BB. And with two of maniacs bickering they end up raise re-raise each other for it to be $12 to me. I raise $60 and they both shut-up and run away.
I finish the orbit and cash out for $260.
I ran back to pai-gow table and after a number of hours I cash out up another $55...
We head to dinner and go walking the strip and each place we go we try the tables. And I cashed out up between $25-$50
The last stop at 5:30 this morning I cash out up $75 at NY-NY.
So I haven't had a losing session and after food, drinks I showing a net gain of $422.00 for the trip.
