Not enough poker

For Rooms: Excalibur (Live),

Summary: Lots of fun lots of drink to little poker.

Content: Came into Vegas on may 4th. Hoped to play poker almost everyone of the five nights I was there. Was not quite meant to be. Stayed at Harrahs nice enough we got a good deal. Warning they have construction going on on the top floor. We had to move after the first night. Once we moved everything was good. I would say they are about average rooms for the strip. No complaints but nothing really worth writing home about.

Went this time with girlfriend and a few other couples so I should have known I wouldn't be seeing my beloved poker tables much. Went to some clubs. Tryst sp? and Pure. Liked Tryst more both were cool though. Plenty of eye candy if thats your thing. $10 dollar beers or 100 dollar bottles of Vodka to get a table not my thing though. No I didn't get a table. We did spend some time dancing and drinking though. I t was fun for a bit. Wanted to sneak away and play though. The third night we went to the dueling piano bar at Harrah's that was fun times if you have never been there. More my idea of fun then over priced clubs. On Cinco de mayo they had free tekillya shots at Hawaiin tropic by PH. Good times remembered quickly why I hate Tequila the next morning though. Couldn't function for a few hours the next morning.

The one session I did get in was with girlfriend at Excalibur our last night there. She was feeling bad because she knows thats the main reason I go to Vegas. I didn't say a word the whole time. :) That payed off in other ways. I would like to say I played well at the 2-4 table but I just went to play with her and have some beers. Accomplished the beers and came out up $90 at a 2-4 table. No skill involved just was hitting quite a few hands for the few hours we were there. If my luck was like that I should have been playing more argh.

The one thing that made the whole trip great though was a 7,000 dollar JP on a flamingo slot machine. I can't complain about anything after that on my last day in town.

Hope to go back during the HORSE tourney during the WSOP. Without the lady this time strictly to play poker and see a few of the big poker names in the HORSE tounrney at the RIO. With the slot money it should be a go.

Lesson of the day don't get your hopes up for poker when the lady has a bunch of girlfriends coming along to play with. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.
