Trip Report
A chip and a chair....and a revival
Date: 03/21/08
Player: GOKMA
For Rooms: Planet Hollywood,
Summary: Played in the Planet Hollywood 7pm tournie and I was down to one 100 dollar chip in the first hour but came back to earn some cash!
Content: Came out with family and friends to Las Vegas for some fine dining, sun and of course POKER! Friday night 3-21-08 five of us entered the Planet Hollwood tournamnet. The room is good, roomy and the waitresses cute, nice and earn their tips.
We started with 4000 in chips and through mis-reads, mismangement and bad luck I was down to one single 100 dollar chip at the first break. We came back from the break and of course I"m in the big blind which is 400. I put my chip out there announce "all-in" and don't even bother to look at my cards. 3 guys call and there is a nice side pot going. I"m just waiting to leave and get a drink when suddenly we flip up our cards and I had two pair and won 400!. The next hand I get AK of hearts and go all-in, 3 callers and I hit and A and a K on the flop and I now have 1600. I sit back for a few hands when I pick up a pair of tens and go all in and get two callers. My pair holds up and I have almost 5000. I get some decent cards that hold up and before the next break i"m up to 17,000. The tables keep merging and I make the final table with about 38,000. I lose half my stack when a drunk can't figure out to raise properly and fumbles/drops his chips all over and the dealer tells him it's only a call. He complains he wanted to raise but with 68o in my hand in the big blind I"m happy to se a flop. The flop comes 4 5 7 with two spades. I hit a straight! He goes all-in and I call and of course he hits a flush. We were down to 6 players when the chip leader with about half the chips agrees to donate $200 of first place money to the pool and the rest of us split it for $380 each.
My friends were shocked I was able to come back but I bought them a drink and we laughed about my experience.
