| Mirage Poker Room Description |
|
The Mirage Resort and Casino was the first "Megaresort" brought upon Las Vegas by casino mogul Steve Wynn. The Mirage Poker Room, one of the oldest continuously operating poker rooms in the city, has been renovated and now offers a spacious 19 table setting with many amenities and games for all players. Managed by long term Las Vegas veteran Christopher Coffin, the Mirage Poker Room offer several different promotions and a location within the casino that allows for signifciant walk by traffic and very short walk time to the restrooms.
The aesthetics of the Mirage Poker Room include dark wood veneers and taupes that match the rest of the property since the major remodel a few years back that removed most of the tropical theme of the resort. All new swivel adjustable height chairs were added as well as equipping all tables with both automatic shufflers as well as the Genesis Bravo player tracking system.
The layout of the The Mirage Poker Room includes a dedicated brush desk/poker cashier and 19 tables spread out behind. A half wall surrounds the room which allows for ample railing by onlookers, and the close proximity to the restroom, smoking areas, and food are all positioned to allow for player comfort. A small player lounge was added recently near the brush desk so players waiting for their game can sit and relax. Also, the Mirage Race and Sports book is directly adjacent to the Mirage Poker Room.
The most common games spread in the Mirage Poker Room include 1/2NLHE and 3/6LHE. The Mirage also offers two daily tournaments with buy-ins of less than $100. The players at the Mirage Poker Room are mainly hotel guests and tourists with a few Las Vegas local players mixed in. With the aggressive high hand jackpot promotions that the room offers, many players seek out the Mirage due to the potential of hitting a large progressive jackpot in the poker room.
The Mirage Poker Room complimentary cocktail service offers Coca Cola products as well as most call drinks and frozen beverages, as well as fruit juices and energy drinks. Tableside food delivery is also available 24 hours a day and players can use their earned comps to pay for poker room dining.
Players earn $1 an hour comps on their MGM Resorts International M Life card. The accumulated comps can be used for poker room dining as well as nearly every full service food establishment within the Mirage resort.
