Circus Circus Player Room Review Small, smoky, strange. 10/26/05, Player: Go735 Total Rating: 1.95 Room Quality Rating: 1 Room Quality Description: The "room" is just an area cordoned off from slots and other stuff in a corner. Whether or not they allow smoking in the poker "room," count on walking out smelling like you do. The tables have a peculiar hump in the middle where the dealer sits -- kind of a bubble in the felt -- that the dealer said the casino has there on purpose. It was unclear what the "purpose" might have been, but it did make pot- and card- management unpredictable. Competition Rating: 4 Competition Description: The competition in 3-6 limit was typical -- enough calls that you can make decent money, but enough lucky hits on the river that you'll have to bite your tongue once or twice an hour. This room seemed to attract local clientele (I didn't get the impression that anyone but my friend and I were travellers). Not much to worry about. Dealer Rating: 2 Dealer Description: The first dealer was more curt than friendly, and not helpful to new players who didn't understand the limit structure. He didn't make mistakes as far as I could tell. The second dealer was an older woman who was amusing at first, but then just talked too much. Cocktail Rating: 1 Cocktail Description: I was only at this table for about 2 hours, but I didn't see service once during that time. Management Rating: 2 Management Description: The management was not helpful or welcoming, but they didn't go out of their way to offend. Wait time was short on a Thursday night. Comps Rating: 3 Comps Description: I didn't hear about comps, but was only there a short time. Back to Circus Circus Room Review |
