Plaza Player Room Review Attending a convention w/private poker tourny's 07/25/05, Player: ljbrun Total Rating: 3.40 Room Quality Rating: 3 Room Quality Description: Well, it's old and doesn't compare to the new mega rooms on the strip, but it's out of the way in a corner just past a stage area where they have live entertainment. Even with it's proximity to the stage. It wasn't too noisy. Tables and chairs have seen better days and the dealers' chairs did not elevate so they had to walk from table to table with their favorite cushions. Competition Rating: 2 Competition Description: Competition was a little less touristy than the big strip casinos. However, we were attending a poker convention and the Plaza was operating a telivised tournament at the same time. So, that might have elevated the competition level a bit. Dealer Rating: 4 Dealer Description: We played 4 tournaments and some cash games, so we saw a lot of the dealers. I thought most were very good and personable too. One seemed kinda bitchy and one miscounted the chips in the pot a couple of times. My favorites were Chester, Jayson and a tiny older woman whose name I forget. Cocktail Rating: 4 Cocktail Description: Not the babes that we saw at Wynn's, but efficient and came by often enough to keep me satisfied. I drank mostly water. From what I heard, the alcoholic drinks were OK. Management Rating: 5 Management Description: I thought they did a great job. Especially managing our tournaments (4 in 2 days, averaging around 50 players each) while they had their UPC televised tourny going on at the same time. Comps Rating: 4 Comps Description: Didn't worry about comps because our tourny's didn't apply. However, for cash games, they have several high hand jackpots that get up to $500 and after midnight you get $20 for cracked Aces. For the high hand jackpots you don't need to showdown, but thee has to be a least $10 in the pot. Back to Plaza Room Review |
