Play the 1/2 game like a 5/10.

Binion's

Room Quality: 4
The room quality is good for downtown. Not as swanky as the Golden Nugget, but not as destitute as the Coretz. Avoid the Cortez unless you like playing at your drunk Uncles house.
Competition: 3
I went into Binion's pretty late the first night I got in expecting a reasonable 1/2 game and what I got was a 5/10 game played on a 1/2 table. Seriously, I was there for almost 2 hours and I don't remember seeing a flop for less than 5 dollars that entire time. But that's the game they play. Once you realize what is going on, it's a beatable game. Tight, aggressive play will keep you from going mad chasing flops. If you are looking for a casual game, try the Nugget, cause you won't find it here (at least after midnight).
Dealers: 4
I like the dealer, but he was a bit of cocky nerd. Which is fine, but just keep in mind the environment at Binion's is one of local friendly intimidation. Inside jokes, card jargon, egoism, etc. Of course the real players (ones who know how to manage money, which is half of the actual game of a professional) are on the strip.
Cocktails: 3
It was real late, so maybe it's different during the day, but I was not impressed with the service at night. They seemed understaffed.
Management: 4
I didn't get much of an impression of the management other then the guy who at the little podium who showed me were my game was at, but he answered my questions and seemed nice enough.
Comps & Bonuses: 3
I didn't see anything, but again I was only there for 2 hours. They run a skeleton crew at night.
