Room Quality: 4 Twenty+ tables in a curved room next to a noisy bar (Centrifuge). Dumb marble racetrack built into tables. Fully automated Genesis Bravo list management with at-table check in and out, which for a room this size is absolutely necessary. No jackpot drop, so $4/10% max only. |
Competition: 3 I know most people thing MGM is one of the softest rooms in Vegas, but for some reason I run into the best and/or luckiest players when I play here. They always had a hand, seemed to know about position and bet sizing, and were generally tough to beat. I need to avenge myself next trip. |
Dealers: 3 It seemed that "dummy up and deal" was the order of the day. Mistake-free, however. |
Cocktails: 1 I didn't drink while playing here, but several of the other players were complaining about the lack of service, both in speed and courtesy. Do not go to MGM to drink a lot while playing poker. |
Management: 4 It takes skill and patience to run a room this big - kudos the the MGM poker room management for doing it so smoothly. The greeter/brush at the front desk was friendly, gladly made me a players card, and was using a funny, sports arena announcer style voice to announce open seats. It was amusing. |
Comps & Bonuses: 2 No jackpot drop, so therefore no high hands or bad beat jackpots. $1 per hour on the MGM card. |
