Flamingo Player Room Review
Best low limit game in town
01/20/09, Player: panteracfh3
Total Rating: 4.25
Room Quality Rating: 4
Room Quality Description: The quality of the room was good. Well kept. Clean. Tables were nice and all but a few had automatic shufflers installed. There is now an electronic board at the front podium to show the wait list (if there is a wait). Only downside is that it's a poker area and not a closed off room. Nothing that would prevent me from playing there again though. Overall a good atmosphere.
Competition Rating: 4
Competition Description: I consider myself to be an average player and I was consistently one of the better players at the tables (granted it was 2/4). A lot of players had limited live experience. A lot of loose/passive play which makes for a good time. These players paid you off most of the time. A few locals, mostly tourists, and the odd drunk late at night.
Dealer Rating: 5
Dealer Description: Experienced, friendly, and knowledgeable. No mistakes. Always willing to start a conversation. Very polite to the novice players. Special mention to Carol, Pervies, Eric, and Frank....they made it a fun time.
Cocktail Rating: 3
Cocktail Description: Even with the service bar right next to the room, I still thought the speed was a tad slow. Not horrible by any stretch but could be better. A few older waitresses.
Management Rating: 5
Management Description: Very professional. Very quick to open a new table if the list gets about 7-8 people deep. They were also very polite and composed when dealing with one jerk.
Comps Rating: 5
Comps Description: I think it's $1/hour on your Total Rewards card which is pretty standard. They offer high hand jackpots for quads, straight flushes, and royal flushes as well as an 'Aces Cracked' promotion between 4am-4pm where you get $50. I hit quads and got an additional $100 so I can't complain. I also spoke to the floor manager and he said that they were working with the hotel to start offering poker room rates in the near future. When asked what the rates would be, he couldn't say with any certainty but it would be in the ballpark of $45 for weeknights and $100
