Excalibur (Electronic) Player Room Review

Summary of opening night at excalibur
08/23/08, Player: philman

Total Rating: 3.90

Room Quality Rating: 5
Room Quality Description: It was opening night for the electronic tables, and the pokertek reps. were there to make sure things ran smooth, everything new, approx 10-16 reps. there to help.

Competition Rating: 3
Competition Description: Same as anywhere, except actually had more interaction with people here than any other cardroom, I am a beginner, and have sat at 6 live tables, and no tourneys yet.

Dealer Rating: 5
Dealer Description: They were absent. Electronic cards, chips, protocol.

Cocktail Rating: 4
Cocktail Description: It was opening night, flowing all night 15-20 minutes between.

Management Rating: 4
Management Description: Were very, very helpful, filled almost all tables, 7stud,omaha tables not as busy as nlhe, and limit tables

Comps Rating: 1
Comps Description: Actually think they could have worked on that one better, got aces cracked by 2 k's on the board and a garbage k'o hand, so aces cracked usally wins something, and on opening night a 6 pack would have put out those flames from a bad hand, I left after that, checked to see if I could get a poker room rate, and basically got the go here,go there treatment, so the comps part was a let down, and maybe I could have persued it more, but didnt, no giveaways, bat beat jackpots, grand opening specials, should have been better prepared for the turn-out, and that will be the only downside to the electronic part, if the extra comps, and little things go away, people will stick to the live tables, and the slot players will play the electronics. Ive been at the Grand for half the time that i was at the excal, and already have got a $69.00 room rate with a little schmoozing, so I think I will stay at where takes care of Me best, which is the MGM Grand, electronic or not...
