Imperial Palace Player Room Review
April 17th to 28th. Noisy and cold but I love it.
05/01/08, Player: Karapet
Total Rating: 3.80
Room Quality Rating: 3
Room Quality Description: I love playing at the IP but in all truth I can't really say it's a good quality room. It's very noisy which I don't mind too much but the worst thing is the temperature. Wearing a sweatshirt and still shivering seems ridiculous. Apart from that it's fine and I'm always made to feel very welcome there.
Competition Rating: 4
Competition Description: The NL games are usually, although not always, fairly soft. There are occasional first timers there and although you meet other good players, the average standard is fairly weak.
Dealer Rating: 5
Dealer Description: I get on very well with several of the dealers. In general they are very good, the only one I thought was bad is no longer there. Sure the occasional mistake was made but only small ones and dealers are only human.
Cocktail Rating: 4
Cocktail Description: Given the quality of casino the IP is, there are some extremely attractive waitresses. They usually came round very frequently apart from the odd occasion at shift change when nobody was assigned to the poker room. I can't really comment on the quality of the drinks as I can't drink alcohol.
Management Rating: 5
Management Description: The vast majority of the time it's a very well run room. Lists are computerised and empty seats are usually filled quickly. New games are started as soon as 4 or 5 names are on a list if players are happy to start short handed, invariably they then fill up quickly.
Comps Rating: 4
Comps Description: $2 an hour is as good as anywhere I know of on the strip. Then there's free coffee and cookies always available. The AA/KK promotion from 8-11am is very popular especially with the $2/4 LHE players but as an NL player I hate it, I feel a disproportionate of the jackpot drop goes towards paying for it, leaving a high hand wheel that can mean a Royal Flush might only get $10. I was lucky enough to hit my first ever live RF and only got $50, the same as if I'd got KK cracked at $2/4. Somehow that doesn't seem fair.
