MGM Grand Player Room Review
Nice room, good poker...
04/20/08, Player: RhymeAndReason
Total Rating: 3.70
Room Quality Rating: 4
Room Quality Description: It wasn't the nicest poker room that I saw in Vegas, but it was definitely a great room. Plenty of space, nice tables, lots of big screens. Its a pretty newly renovated room and so it looked very modern. It was a great playing experience.
Competition Rating: 3
Competition Description: Definitely not a tough room. There were a few players, but a lot of easy money. Rail birds were always coming and trying there luck and with the location, plenty of "players" were lured in. The one problem I did have was quite a few suck outs by inexperienced players.
Dealer Rating: 4
Dealer Description: Dealers were good, I didn't notice a mistake at my table. There were also very quick and with the shuffling machine you didn't have to wait for them to shuffle. They were also very personable, joking around with the players and conversing with everyone.
Cocktail Rating: 4
Cocktail Description: Waitresses were attractive enough, but they were rather quick. I didn't wait long to get my drinks. I couldn't tell you about the quality of the drinks because I only ordered a couple bottled beers, then made the switch to soda.
Management Rating: 4
Management Description: The floor manager was pretty well informed. I played in a tournament while I was there and in a couple ring games. I never waited long to play and the floor manager could answer all the questions I asked. The few times I did wait for a short time, he came to check on me and see how I was doing and to talk a little poker with me.
Comps Rating: 3
Comps Description: I didn't really deal with any comps while I was there. I was only at the MGM playing for a few hours and didn't ask about the comps.
