Stratosphere Player Room Review Meh...only if... 02/28/08, Player: Flushgarden Total Rating: 2.50 Room Quality Rating: 2 Room Quality Description: This little room has potential, however it is very poorly managed. This room actually closes every night at 3:30 AM, even if there are tables full of players wanting to play. Who has ever heard of a poker room closing every night? They open at noon every day but of course it takes them a couple hours to get a single cash game going. If not for this I would be able to give the room a good rating. They do have some pretty good tourneys that run quite often. $60 buy-in, usually 20-40 players (I was there on a Tuesday and Wednesday), and while the structure isn't great, its not the worst in town for the size of the buy-in. Competition Rating: 3 Competition Description: Pretty typical for low buy-in poker. A 10 person table has 6 clueless players, 3 who have half a clue, and one fairly decent player. Dealer Rating: 4 Dealer Description: The dealers were actually pretty good for the most part. They joked around and kept the atmosphere light which is good for the games. Cocktail Rating: 3 Cocktail Description: On couple of occasions we needed a cocktail waitress but there were none to be found, and one time I ordered a water and it never came. Other than that, everybody else seemed to get their drinks in a timely manner. They were mildly attractive. Management Rating: 1 Management Description: Again I have to give them the worst rating possible because they actually close the room down every night. It just kills the whole room. Comps Rating: 3 Comps Description: I hear they offer $1 an hour, and have heard that they have some decent freeroll tournaments if you meet the required hours. Back to Stratosphere Room Review |
