MGM Grand Player Room Review
Hard to beat for low limit No Limit
02/15/08, Player: PietM
Total Rating: 4.25
Room Quality Rating: 5
Room Quality Description: The MGM pokerroom has a very open and inviting atmosphere. All MGM-employees, as well as the players, make you feel right at home. Player mistakes were corrected in a friendly matter.
Competition Rating: 4
Competition Description: There were always at least 3 1-2 no limit tables (I usually came in around noon) going, with a nice mixture of real bad, somewhat bad, and a little bit better players. At most one 'shark' per table (why would real sharks want to play 1-2 no limit anyway?).
Dealer Rating: 4
Dealer Description: Dealers were (for the most part) friendly, and kept the game going. Ofcourse I've seen a few mistakes, but dealers were quick to correct those.
Cocktail Rating: 4
Cocktail Description: Not the best looking waitresses in Vegas, but for the most part quick enough (if the ratio waitress:player was ok) and always friendly.
Management Rating: 4
Management Description: Signing up for games was a quick process (dealers 'logging out' players as soon as they leave a game is a big help). Management ran a tight ship and provided a honest game for all players.
Comps Rating: 3
Comps Description: A dollar an hour, no jackpots. Easy enough to get a $10 comp ticket for the deli close to the pokerroom for a post/midgame snack.
