Bally's Player Room Review Better at Bally's than I had expected. 11/15/07, Player: machman Total Rating: 3.35 Room Quality Rating: 3 Room Quality Description: By all means, the chairs are quite typical, and nothing special about them. The worst aspect of this room is without a doubt the fact that it is not really a room at all, and is right there on the floor with all the hoopla and noise of the floor. Even at there, there is a back wall so to speak, and that does help. Worst part for me is when the lounge band was really loud, you could here it very clearly over in the poker room. Competition Rating: 3 Competition Description: I found the range of play pretty typical, with a fairly decent percentage of reasonable raises actually thinking the field so that you were rarely looking at family pots. There were a coupld players at the table that were locals, but most were tourists. Dealer Rating: 4 Dealer Description: Most all the dealers that were working the two nights that I played there were really on their game, expecially Kevin and Dave. With one exception I felt the dealers really kept the game moving and added just the right amount of commentary and chit chat. Cocktail Rating: 4 Cocktail Description: I can not speak for all of the ladies looks, but those that were there on the two nights I played were fine, and looked good, but would not be considered "Hotties", but that is OK. When I order a diet or coffee etc, I am not looking to pick them up. The service was quick, as the bar is right up against the poker "room". Management Rating: 3 Management Description: I feel there may be a week spot here, and there seems to be a little lack of orginazation, although I found it interesting that the signup list includes both Bally's and Paris, so while you are standing there at the Bally's poker room, you can see how many folks are on the list over at Paris, and vice versa. Comps Rating: 4 Comps Description: From what I understand, the comp rate pretty much just applies to food, but is $1 per hour of play. I am not so sure that I like the rake, $5 on most of the no limit pots, and I am no sure I like the "Mega Bad Beat Jackpot", when it is not that much more than some other single casino jackpots that I have seen.
