Imperial Palace Player Room Review
Will definitely return....
11/08/07, Player: Kmack
Total Rating: 3.25
Room Quality Rating: 2
Room Quality Description: Not really a "room", more of a space carved out between slots and a bar. Tables were big, which I liked for the elbow room, however the WSOP logo on the felt is RED and was located in a corner of the table where bets typically land - making it sometimes difficult to know the action. Atmosphere reminded me of a home game type, had a good time overall. Smoky too as players could smoke just outside the "room" and tended to lean in so as not to miss any action. Nearest bathroom seemed to be quite far away. TV's in the corners and flatscreen monitor showing waitlists as well.
Competition Rating: 4
Competition Description: The vast majority of players here (NL 1/2) were in Vegas to have a good time, drink alot of alcohol, and play cards - in that order. A disciplined, focused approach should net a profit without too much difficulty for someone who can be patient and push with strong hands. Bluffing not recommended here.
Dealer Rating: 4
Dealer Description: Overall, dealers were standard for my Vegas experiences. Some better than others, some with better personalities than others, etc... Highest regard for Michael from Massachusetts. There were a few dealer errors that impacted me directly from one particular dealer, however everything was handled correctly.
Cocktail Rating: 3
Cocktail Description: Average rating here. Looks wise the outfits made some waitresses look great and others not so much. Personality wise and timeliness wise, same deal. Didn't seem to be a "standard" so we'll say average.
Management Rating: 4
Management Description: No problems here. I was seated quickly every time and a table change request to my buddies then full table was honored an hour later when a seat opened up. Good memory there. Dealer errors were corrected quickly and professionally by Richard (I think that was his name).
Comps Rating: 5
Comps Description: I have to go with excellent, as the $2 players card per hour is among tops in Vegas right now. The high hand jackpots were for quads, str8 and royal flushes - which made a good balance of having HHJ but not overkill. Payouts between 8am-11am for cracked aces or kings as well. Saw the cookie tray replentished several times, and there were a couple coffee jugs as well - both of which I've not experienced in Vegas.
