Gold Coast Player Room Review I quite like it... 07/25/07, Player: RioRodent Total Rating: 3.25 Room Quality Rating: 3 Room Quality Description: If it wasn't for the fact that the 'room' is just a corral at the back of the casino floor I might rated this as a 4. The tables have been re-covered and now have the standard 'dye-sub' printed poker table cloth... the chairs are as comfortable as the Venetian and much better than any of the Harrah's properties that I played in. Competition Rating: 4 Competition Description: I only play $1/$2 NLHE and have had just one losing session in 2 x 8 day stays. Usually a pretty even mix of locals and tourists, one or two of the locals were actually the worst of the lot!! Dealer Rating: 4 Dealer Description: The dealers were all pretty good and kept the game moving efficiently, most were there during both of my visits - July 2006 & June 2007. If you could have a Coco at every table you wouldn't need auto-shuffle machines, she deals at warp speed!! Cocktail Rating: 3 Cocktail Description: Just average on this one... not as good as Rio or Venetian, but far better than Ceasar's and Bally's. Speed and frequency just fine. Management Rating: 3 Management Description: Nothing much to add here, everything seemed to run smoothly. Comps Rating: 3 Comps Description: Just a few hours play each day was enough to get a breakfast buffet comp, admittedly that's only $6.95 and by no means the best buffet in town!
