Fiesta Henderson Player Room Review
Nice little place to sweat the progressive
04/09/07, Player: EKshine
Total Rating: 3.50
Room Quality Rating: 3
Room Quality Description: The Fiesta Henderson is a nice room set upstairs near the buffet restaurant. They have about 8 tables but I only saw 5 used at the busiest weekend times. Most of the time thought they are dealing 2-4 and 3-6 limit. Friday night they spread a 1-1 NL game with a $79 max buy in. It's a quiet, friendly room that appeals to locals.
The vibe was quiet due primarily to its location off the casino floor. The 5 or 6 flat screens are usually showing sports and restrooms were nearby
Competition Rating: 4
Competition Description: The players were primarily local with a few tourists mixed in. The play at the limit tables was unremarkable but difficult due to the fact that so many times you can get in with the best and get drawn out against. 5-6 handed flops were common. So somebody is either apologizing for sucking out on you or scolding you for playing such weak hands (having just been the suckee).
Dealer Rating: 3
Dealer Description: The dealers were all friendly and courteous, willing to explain the various bonuses and asking you for your players card. Auto shufflers keep the game moving, but overall the pace of the game was a little slower than I am used to for a live game.
Cocktail Rating: 5
Cocktail Description: Over the weekend the cocktail service was at a nice steady pace. I'm giving it an excellent rating for the pace, not the frequency or quality (though they do have an above average beer selection). I don't want somebody coming every 5 minutes, but at this room whenever I needed a beverage, a server was always by within a few minutes.
Management Rating: 3
Management Description: Mangement was friendly and the monitors for the waiting lists were always up to date. One time my seat was called while I was in the middle of a craps roll down on the casino floor. I had the boxman call up to the poker room to say I was coming and they held my seat for me.
Comps Rating: 4
Comps Description: For hotel guests you get a coupon at check in for $5 in comped chips when you buy in for at least $20.
The Stations casino chain has a $200,000 progressive bad beat jackpot that pays everyone seated with a players card a minimum of $200 when it hits so many players bank on the occasional jackpot without having to go up against stiffer competition at Red Rock or Boulder Station.
But in addition to the bad beat they do have a manager's choice high hand of the day which is random and kind of fun (Ex; four 8's with a queen could get $750), and they also had a quads or better "bingo" card on the wall that if you hit you got bonus $$$ from $50 to $250 depending on if you complete a line across the board.
