Stardust Player Room Review
Soon to be non smoking, maybe
03/28/05, Player: aargh57
Total Rating: 3.25
Room Quality Rating: 3
Room Quality Description: Would like to preface all of these reviews by saying I've only played in 6 rooms so I base this review on comparison of the other 5. The room is OK, a few new tables, but others in fair or poor condition. The room is close to the 70's themed table games so there is occasionally fairly loud 60s/70s music but it didn't bother me. Would like to add, they are going non smoking, probably April 1st, according to the dealers (although 1 of them did say that it wasn't a certainty). Smokers will soon be out of luck.
Competition Rating: 4
Competition Description: I've played there on 5 of my vacations (usually 1 week each time) and have seen some of the players every time I've went for the past several years. Most of the regulars are retirees and are pretty passive players but a few do play fairly well. The clientele is usually older folks and it's been rare when I've been in a ram and jam game there. If you're any good you should be able to beat this game. If you're tight/weak (conservative) you should at least break even. Also, they did have a no-limit game going there for most nights I was there and it even ran almost 3 continuous days at one point. They also ran a $6/12 game a few times.
Dealer Rating: 4
Dealer Description: Most of the dealers are very experienced and run the game well. There were 2 new ones just starting, as I think the newer rooms opening up may have taken some dealers. The only problem was that a few were a little slow just because they're not spring chickens. All in all though, friendly and very good.
Cocktail Rating: 2
Cocktail Description: If you're looking for hot babes to serve you drinks go somewhere else. They were nice, however but I think they may be overworked as the service was slow at times.
Management Rating: 4
Management Description: Management is friendly and well organized. I heard the night before I left they kicked out 3 people and the last night I was there another guy almost got kicked out for being loud/rude so they keep a pretty tight reign on that sort of thing.
Comps Rating: 3
Comps Description: Still have the $5 food coupons for players (just ask),$1500 free roll tourney, and a very good room rate if you call ahead and talk to the poker room. I got a tower room for $45 weekend and $30 weekday (villa is even cheaper)
