Sahara Player Room Review New Tourney Structure an Improvement 11/28/06, Player: Beachman Total Rating: 2.70 Room Quality Rating: 2 Room Quality Description: The room has not changed in years and the felt, chips, & chairs show it. It is long overdue for a facelift, but it does seem to fit with the local clientele! Competition Rating: 4 Competition Description: The MTTs are 75% local rocks and 25% loose aggressive players. Reading the table and picking your targets make for good tourney runs. Most of the locals came from a 2-4 limit game, so that should be a good indication of the level of competition. The tourney is one of the best values in Vegas. The recently changed the structure to a 3,000 starting count for $42 plus T2,000 more for a single $20 re-buy. 5,000 chips for $62 is excellent. Blinds are still 20 min starting at 25/25. You can play poker for about 2 hours before it becomes an all in fest. Dealer Rating: 5 Dealer Description: The strenght of the room. Most have been dealing at the Sahara for longer than I have played there. Solid, personable and experienced. Cocktail Rating: 3 Cocktail Description: Decent service from several friendly waitresses. Management Rating: 2 Management Description: They need to lighten up, this room isn't the Bellagio! Also, there was quite a discussion from the tremp TD who wanted to move new players in on the SB letting them post! They finally got it right and started moving the BB like most MTTs. Comps Rating: 2 Comps Description: Don't know, don't care. I was only there for the MTT. Back to Sahara Room Review |
