Tuscany Player Room Review
Good Cheap Tuscany Tourney
11/26/06, Player: MariaTortilla
Total Rating: 2.80
Room Quality Rating: 2
Room Quality Description: An average room with 5 tables and 3 flatscreen HDTVs on the walls. Tables are your standard issue with red felt, cup holder and faux leather bumpers. No autoshufflers which slows the game a bit. My only complaint is that there is a large, stainless steel (ugly) bar in one corner of the room. No one mans the bar, it's just a large chunk of cold metal sitting in the room. Tuscany still allows smoking at this bar and the cirgarette smoke gave me a headache after a while. There's also this one annoying slot machine right outside the rail of one of the tables. It's a jungle themed machine and has a bird that sqauks every 10 seconds. AARRGGHH!
Competition Rating: 3
Competition Description: I played the 7:00pm tournament. $20+2 and unlimited $10 rebuys for the first hour if you fell below 1000 in chips. There's also a $10 add-on after the first hour for an additional 1000 in chips. I ended up buying in for a total of $50 with the house only taking $2 fee. The competition was average. Lots of guys there to "gam-bol" and willing to go crazy the first hour and rebuy after busting. After the re-buy period, everyone tightened up significantly to the point of being blinded out. I had 6 BB left and pushed in only to bust in 18th place out of 50 people. After some of the busts, the room got a 3-6 Limit game going. They have trouble filling a 1-2 NL game.
Dealer Rating: 4
Dealer Description: These guys were good. No mistakes and no complaints. They seemed to move the game along even though there were no autoshufflers at the table.
Cocktail Rating: 3
Cocktail Description: It was slow during the tourney. Same old story, not enough waitresses to cover the slots, table games and poker room.
Management Rating: 4
Management Description: The manager of the room was very good. He kept the tables balanced and we were never shorthanded for every long.
Comps Rating: 3
Comps Description: Right now they're running a holiday freeroll. The good thing about this freeroll is that the Tuscany will apply your tournament hours to your card if you stay and play the cash game afterward. Those tourney hours can add up real fast.
