Tropicana Player Room Review Better than some make it out to be 10/30/06, Player: guynotes Total Rating: 3.40 Room Quality Rating: 3 Room Quality Description: Nothing to write home about, but big room with space between tables. Out of the way by the MGM escalator but allowed for freash air so never stuffy. Friendly atmosphere from room supervisor to dealers to players. Only 1 boorish local drunk and he was quickly taken down by a good ole Georgia boy. Never more than 2 of 4 tables going with $1-2. Competition Rating: 3 Competition Description: Some good players. I figure that most that played there when I did were either from the hotel, or Excalibur (like me) or MGM people that couldn't get in to a game their. Watch out for "planted" locals looking for fishes. Otherwise I found the games very friendly and sociable. No real poker pro wannabe's (except for locals). Dealer Rating: 4 Dealer Description: Although there was 1 mistake with a wrong pay off (sadly the player wrongfully paid was going to play stupid until we all spoke up), the dealers kept the game going, headed off trouble, and were friendly. Cocktail Rating: 5 Cocktail Description: The two ladies I met over my visits there in the evenings were very friendly, remembered your drinks and no one had to ever call for them. Appreciated the tips and always pleasant. Management Rating: 4 Management Description: Friendly managers and available for trouble (especially with boorish drunk locals)Thanks Terry! I was seated immediately and if not they paged as soon as a place was open. Only complaint was first night where young lady room supervisor seemed to "set up" a couple of locals who were looking for a loose table. Not sure but one was either her boyfriend or relative, but still friendly and always helpful.
