South Point Player Room Review Great staff, tough crowd! 07/02/06, Player: Johnny Vegas Total Rating: 3.40 Room Quality Rating: 3 Room Quality Description: The room is a poker area, so this is great is you like open poker areas and not so great if you're a fan of a room. The poker area and tables are average to slightly above. Competition Rating: 2 Competition Description: Mostly locals, and some real idiots (be prepared). There are several self-proclaimed experts playing 2-4, and complaining everytime they lose. This is a crazy concept, because they are playing 2-4 to play with bad players. When the bad players calls all the way to the river with pocket 3's and lose, it's great! But when they catch a set on the river, many locals get upset. There was a local couple (she was playing and he was waiting for no-limit) who were the most annoying people that I ever met at a poker table. She kept saying how the South Coast sucks, and how bad the players were (She lost about $250..I loved it). Dealer Rating: 3 Dealer Description: Mostly nice, and average to above skill level. They don't do a good job of controlling the game. Cocktail Rating: 5 Cocktail Description: The best! Fast service by really nice ladies. Management Rating: 5 Management Description: The manager is friendly and very accommodating. Comps Rating: 4 Comps Description: I think it's $1.25/hour for the first 4 hours. They also have progressive hands (which they rake for but make it fun especially at 2-4). Back to South Point Room Review |
