South Point Player Room Review Beware of the STRONG odors!! 03/05/06, Player: bowlingfool Total Rating: 3.15 Room Quality Rating: 3 Room Quality Description: As has been reported before, the poker "room" isn't a room yet. Just an open area in the corner of the casino floor. They are working on improving that though, with a real room eventually. The title of my review isn't about the odor in the poker room, it's about the smell you'll encounter in the parking garage. Since the garage is built over the horses stable for their equestrian center, the smell that hit us as we went back to our cars was strong!! If you're a city kid, like me, these "animal odors" are quite a shock to the system. Competition Rating: 4 Competition Description: Most of the players were pretty basic loose-passive types. But I was only goofing off at a $2/$4 table. Not sure what it was like at the $4/$8 or NL games. Only one semi-aggressive player at the table who was trying to talk his girlfriend through hands. At one point, I'm in a pot with 4 others, including the girlfriend. Flop comes K-X-X with 2 spades. Checked to me, so I bet with my K-x hand. As it continues around the table, the girlfriend looks at her guy and he mubles to her, "spade draw". She looks puzzled at what he said so I tell her, louder, "he's telling you I'm on a spade draw..." She shoots me a hard stare before finally calling. I eventually lose the hand to the local rock who rivers a 2nd pair to beat my one pair. After the hand, girlfriend gets up from the seat on my right and moves into an open seat right next to boyfriend. I decide to bail out so I don't have to deal with those 2 anymore. :-) Dealer Rating: 3 Dealer Description: Most of the dealers were competent and friendly. Only one major screw up, but no one complained about it much, so it went uncorrected. Cocktail Rating: 5 Cocktail Description: Hot looking cocktail waitresses that kept coming around quickly!!! Management Rating: 4 Management Description: It was a pretty slow day, so the people running the room and the list were doing a decent job of keeping things running smoothly. No idea what it's like on a busy Fri/Sat evening. Comps Rating: 1 Comps Description: unknown. didn't inquire. Back to South Point Room Review |
