MGM Grand Player Room Review

Great Room
01/05/06, Player: shaq_daddy

Total Rating: 4.10

Room Quality Rating: 5
Room Quality Description: I spent 4 days playing poker in Las Vegas and this was by far the best room of them all. The room is big and you can walk around without bumping into someone sitting at a table. It had a good vibe, a young crowd, and the flat screens are easy to see. The tables are very cool. They have seat numbers with a button on the right side of the dealer. When the seat opens up, the dealer presses the seat number and that seat is filled. Also it you ask for a waitress, they press the waitress button and she comes over. The tables are great, but I didn't like the granite on the table. It gets cold, and after a couple hours of playing, your wrist starts to hurt. The chairs are comfortable. You can tell they put a lot of money into the room. They did a great job.

Competition Rating: 3
Competition Description: I played 2 different nights. The first night, I racked up. I played 4/8 with a half kill. Young kids at the table, all they did was chase to the river, then fold. The second night, had a great table. Learned alot from one player, he was racking up the table. I hung in there for 5 hours then walked away loosing some cash, not a lot.

Dealer Rating: 4
Dealer Description: Dealers where very good and personable. They kept the game moving and made the game fun. Some dealers can really bring the game down. Not the case at MGM. I like the shuffle machine but I think after the machine shuffles, the dealer should shuffle the cards real quick. I sat next to this guy who had a pair of Aces dealt to him 3 consecutive times. First time I saw that. All and all the dealers are very good.

Cocktail Rating: 4
Cocktail Description: Waitresses are very pretty and very polite. Best room by far.

Management Rating: 4
Management Description: Management was good, no complaints. I have one suggestion. Give out $2 or $5 chips for a 4/8, 6/12 game. It makes the game go faster when you have to throw out 2 or 3 chips instead of 8 or 16 chips.

Comps Rating: 3
Comps Description: I don't know, I didn't ask for any
