News Sam’s Town Poker Room Goes No Smoking. One of the most established Vegas poker rooms quits cold turkey. No more smoking at the Sam’s Town poker room. Date: 08/30/05 Room: Sam's Town Summary: One of the most established Vegas poker rooms quits cold turkey. No more smoking at the Sam’s Town poker room. Content: The Sam’s Town poker room was one of only a handful of poker rooms in the Las Vegas community that continued to allow smoking into 2005. But, as of last week, Sam’s Town finally told its smoking players to light up outside the poker room, or else find a new home. The management at Sam’s Town report that business is still good. Surprisingly the local players that the poker room feared losing after changing its smoking policy are still playing in the poker room. Evidently, it’s not too much of an inconvenience on those players who wish to smoke to step away from the poker room for a few minutes. I’m happy to hear that business is still good at the Sam’s Town poker room, but at least one visitor to All Vegas Poker e-mailed reporting that a lot of the smokers who used to play at Sam’s Town are migrating to Boulder Station. This seems logical because Boulder Station is only a few miles down the road from Sam’s Town, and Boulder Station is one of the last remaining Las Vegas poker rooms that permits smoking 24 hours per day.
