News Hilton to Open Poker Room by October 1, 2005. A source close to the Hilton says that a new poker room is on the way. Date: 05/29/05 Room: General News Summary: A source close to the Hilton says that a new poker room is on the way. Content: I received a tip today from a source close to the Hilton who says that a new poker room should be open by October, 2005. My source tells me that job postings for dealers and floor supervisors are already posted internally. My source also says that the poker room may even be open sooner than October, if they can get everything worked out. I assume that means construction, hiring, training, and gaming approval. The Hilton poker room is rumored to be located in the legendary Hilton sports book. This information is only in the rumor-stage until the Hilton officially posts a formal press-release, which it has not yet done. So, any tentative plans that the Hilton has for a poker room may change. For the record, I would like to see the Hilton open a poker room. The Hilton has one of the most famous sports books in Vegas, and I have a feeling that the Hilton would know how to build a great poker room.
