News Green Valley Ranch Poker Room Under Construction. The up-scale Henderson, Nevada hotel and casino just closed a restaurant near the sports book. Date: 04/29/05 Room: General News Summary: The up-scale Henderson, Nevada hotel and casino just closed a restaurant near the sports book. The new poker room will be built where the restaurant was located. Content: Green Valley Ranch is a very classy hotel and casino about 15 minutes from the Las Vegas strip. It is owned by the Station Casinos, a company that builds casinos to cater to the Las Vegas residents, rather than tourists. Until recently, Green Valley Ranch did not have a poker room. It was actually one of the only Station Casinos that did not have a poker room. However, Station Casinos just announced that this was about to change very soon. (Las Vegas Sun article) Green Valley Ranch bought out the lease of "Trophy's", a relatively large restaurant located near the sports book inside Green Valley Ranch. The restaurant is already closed, and rennovations are underway to convert the facility into a brand new poker room. There is no published information yet on how many poker tables will be in the poker room, or exactly which poker games will be offered. But, I expect a lot of lower limit texas hold'em games, and perhaps some poker tournaments. I am really looking forward to this poker room. I live very close to Green Valley Ranch, and I have always wished that it had a poker room. I realize that this will be a blessing and a curse, because this new poker room, being so close to my house, will probably consume more of my time than my old lady would like. Nevertheless, Station Casinos has a very solid track record of building good poker rooms, particularly for local players. I can't wait to check it out.
