New Riviera Poker Room to Open in May, 2005.
The Riviera turned out the lights on poker in 2001 when it closed down the old poker room. But now, it looks like the power is about to come back on.

Date: 04/16/05
Room: General News
Summary: The Riviera turned out the lights on poker in 2001 when it closed down the old poker room. But now, it looks like the power is about to come back on.

Content: Received a tip today from an AllVegasPoker.com visitor that the Riviera Casino is planning to open a brand new poker room very soon. The Rivera has not had a poker room since 2001.

Below is a copy of the e-mail correspondence between the AllVegasPoker visitor, and a Riviera Casino employee. It looks like the Riviera may open its poker room as early as May 1st, 2005. The biggest obstacle appears to be approval from the gaming regulators. No word yet on the number of tables, or whether poker tournaments will be offered. But I expect less than 10 poker tables, probably spreading low limit Texas Hold'em games.

If you have any other information about the new Riviera poker room (or any other poker room info), please send it to info@allvegaspoker.com

Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, the Riviera is reopening its Poker Room. Pending Gaming Control Board approval, we are hoping for a May 1st opening. However, at this point in time we cannot confirm that date until approval is received. Please contact us again in a week or two and we may have a definite answer for you. Thanks again for e mailing us.

Also, a big thank you to the visitor that submitted this tip.
