Room: General News
Summary: The first batch of Bellagio poker chips for reviews submitted in April will ship on Saturday. Also, a few chip requests that were missed from earlier shipments will be included.
Content: First of all, thank you all so much for contributing to AllVegasPoker.com – Your poker room reviews and trip reports are responsible for making the site a success.
April's first batch of Bellagio poker chips will ship on Saturday. If you have submitted an approved trip report or poker room review during April (and sent me an e-mail requesting a Bellagio poker chip), then you should expect to receive your poker chip next week.
Also, a quick note about missing poker chips --
I have been notified that a few people have not received their Bellagio chips. Unfortunately, there are a few reasons for this.
Shipping these poker chips is a manual process. I have to manually review each e-mail request, and then prepare the shipment by hand. Once in awhile, I accidentally skip (or delete) an e-mail request for a poker chip. I try hard to get them all correct, but I do make a few mistakes here and there. In the future, I plan to automate this process. AllVegasPoker.com v2.0 should be ready in a few months. And, automating the shipping process is a top priority.
Second, I recently learned that some people have received torn envelopes without poker chips inside. This is because the US Postal Service can't follow directions. In the past, I have been putting the poker chips in standard envelopes, and shipping them via USPS. I even paid an additional postage fee for each envelope so that the envelopes would be sorted by hand (instead of going through the automatic mail sorting machines).
You see, the mail sorting machines at the US Postal Service have a tendency to rip open the standard envelopes. This is because the poker chips don't fit through the machines. Despite paying the additional fee to sort the envelopes by hand, the USPS still sends the envelopes through the machines. To solve this problem, all future shipments will be sent in bubble-wrapped envelopes. The USPS tells me that this will definitely fix the problem because all bubble-wrapped envelopes are ALWAYS sorted by hand. We shall see.
If you have not yet received a poker chip for an approved poker room review or trip report that you submitted in February or March, please send me an e-mail. I will make sure you get your poker chip. And, I sincerely apologize for the delay.
