Venetian Poker Room Sponsors All Vegas Poker!
The Las Vegas poker rooms are finally waking up to the Interwebz.

Date: 05/10/09
Room: General News
Summary: Huge thanks to the Venetian poker room for coming on board as All Vegas Poker's first Las Vegas poker room sponsor.

The Venetian really values AVP. We're delighted they're paying attention to our community, and we're equally as thrilled that they've agreed to offer support to our community financially, through online advertising at AVP.

Read more about what we're planning to do with the dough by clicking the title to this post. And next time you're in Vegas, please drop by the Venetian and say thanks from AVP!

Content: AVP Community and Friends:

It is with great pleasure that today we announce our partnership with the Venetian poker room.

The Venetian is the first Las Vegas poker room to support All Vegas Poker with its advertising dollars. As visitor traffic to AVP continues to grow (it now surpasses more than 100,000 visitors per month), it was absolutely necessary to partner with a poker room that has the financial resolve to help AVP reach the next level.

Through our sponsorship with the Venetian, AVP finally has the resources to expand and grow into a self-sustaining enterprise (in other words, poor ole’ Doug doesn’t have to foot the bill each month anymore LOL).

For example, just this week we used a portion of the proceeds from the Venetian deal to upgrade AVP to a new dedicated server; which we hope will significantly improve the site’s speed and load time for our users. You should be able to see and feel a difference within a few days.

More importantly, we hope to use a portion of our new financial resources to re-develop the site. AVP is showing its age. The backbone and infrastructure of the site has barely changed since 2004. Five years is a long time on the Interwebz, and AVP needs a makeover.

AVP’s code needs to be cleaned up, really bad. I get a little freaked out every time I have to mess with it; the code resembles a Frankenstein-like monster on the back-end, since so many features have been added to the original framework (discussion forum, detailed tournament manager, new ad integration, etc., etc. ).

And let’s not even get started on the front-end. I think we can all agree AVP is functional, but not exactly sexy. I would like to change that. I would like AVP to be both functional AND sexy. Our new deal with the Venetian will help us do it.

Last but not least, our advertising relationship with the Venetian provides AVP with the resources to pay LasVegasMichael. As I’m sure many of you know, LVM is an important ingredient to the success of our community. He is also a family man with a wife, kids, and related responsibilities. He needs to be paid for his work at AVP, and this new deal helps us pay the man.

We appreciate the involvement of all Las Vegas poker room staff participating in our community, but we could still use some additional funding to take AVP to the next level.

If your poker room is interested in advertising at AVP, the largest and most dedicated Las Vegas poker community on Earth, please contact me: info@allvegaspoker.com

In the meantime, please consider checking out the Venetian poker room on your next visit to Las Vegas. And while you’re there, please thank them (in particular, Kathy Raymond and Dan Carpenter) for supporting AVP!

You can read what other AVP'ers have to say about the new Venetian deal in our discussion forum here.

Rock n roll!

Doug
