Per the Gaming Revenue Report, issued by the Nevada Gaming Control Board, card game revenue declined a mere 0.77% in January. Total gaming revenue saw a drop of 14.62%.
Nevada has ownership of 886 poker tables spread over 107 total card rooms.
The report detailed that poker, during the month of January, earned total revenue of 12.6 million. For comparitive purposes, this is about the same amount of revenue that all $5 Slot Machines generated, and just a bit over the revenue that the pit game 3 Card Poker brought in.
With the many rumors and speculation that the poker boom has long since ended, it is very gratifying to see that despite the downtrodden economy resulting in gaming revenue declination accross the board, poker is maintaining stablility and persevering with resilience.
