Rio Hotel Opens 10 Table Poker Room.
The Rio Hotel opens a brand new poker room just in time for the new year.

Date: 12/29/04
Room: Rio
Summary: The Rio Hotel opens a brand new poker room just in time for the new year.

Content: On December 20th, 2004 the Rio hotel casino opened a brand new poker room. The poker room has 10 tables and is primarily spreading low limit texas holdem games. A No Limit holdem game is also offered with 2/5 blinds and $100-$300 min/max buy-in. Daily No Limit tournaments with a $40 buy-in are available as well.

Pictures and a full editor review will be posted within the next few days. Until then, you can check out the Rio poker room information page. This is not the first time the Rio has had a poker room -- the Rio's last poker room closed in June 1998. Today, it's interesting to read this archived article from the Las Vegas Review Journal discussing the closing of the poker room.

The (re)opening of the Rio poker room has been highly anticipated, especially because it looks like the Rio will host part of the World Series of Poker in 2005. The Rio is owned by Harrah's, and during the past year Harrah's acquired the rights to the WSOP from Binion's Horseshoe.
