Last night, at approximately 6PM, the poker room cashier desk was invoved in an armed robbery.
"CBS Eyewitness news reports:
Las Vegas Metro Police are investigating an armed robbery at the poker room inside the Sahara Hotel and Casino.
Police say the robbery happened just before 6:00 p.m. The robbery was to the Sahara, not a player. No word on how much money taken or if a weapon was used.
No one was injured."
Anyone who has been to Sahara knows that the poker room cage is in the back of the room, though there is a side entrance that leads to a hallway that leads to doors that go outside (these doors are generally not used by the public, and lead to an employee smoking area concealed on the Strip frontage).
6PM is not really a busy time for Sahara, as the 7PM tournament guys usually start filing in around 6:30PM or so.
