Caesars Palace Opening Poker Room in Spring 2005.
Caesars Palace sees a future in poker -- And the future arrives in March or April, 2005.

Date: 12/01/04
Room: General News
Summary: Caesars Palace sees a future in poker -- And the future arrives in March or April, 2005.

Content: Today Caesars Palace Hotel in Las Vegas formally announced the opening of a brand new poker room. The new Caesars Poker room will open in Spring, 2005. The Caesars Palace poker room will be 15,000 square feet, which is a very good sized room.

"(Poker) has become immensely popular," Caesars Palace President Mark Juliano said. -- No kidding. Although Caesar's is a little late to the poker party, I'm really happy about the announcement, and you can bet that AllVegasPoker.com will have pictures posted on opening night.

15,000 sq. ft. is pretty big for a poker room. My best guess is it will be somewhere between the sizes of the Mirage and Excalibur poker rooms -- perhaps 25 tables. The Ceasars Palace poker room will be located next to the Sports Book. The sportsbook at Caesars Palace is huge, and highly impressive. It's my favorite sportsbook in Vegas (and yes, I've been to all of them) -- So, I'm expecting big things from the new poker room.

Caesars has no plans to add a poker room at its Paris Las Vegas property but is considering expanding its existing poker area at neighboring Bally's Las Vegas, probably by 3 tables or so.
