Top-3 Poker Rooms to Watch Football Games on TV.
If you want to log a few hours at the poker tables, but don't want to miss a great gridiron matchup, then these poker rooms should be at the top of your list.
Date: 10/17/04
Room: Harrah's
Summary: If you want to log a few hours at the poker tables, but don't want to miss a great gridiron matchup, then these poker rooms should be at the top of your list.
Content: So, you're in Vegas for the weekend. Of course you want to log as many poker hours as possible, but because sports betting is legal in Nevada, you know you've got to put some action on the games. But, you can't afford to sit in the sportsbook all day -- there is too much dead money at the poker tables, and you deserve your cut. I understand your frustration, and that's why I'm listing my top 3 favorite places to play poker and watch football.
1. Harrah's: The poker room at Harrah's is absolutely the best place to watch a big game and play poker. For starters, the Harrah's poker room used to be a sportsbook, and when it was turned into a poker room, some of the best parts of the sportsbook were preserved - namely the awesome television setup throughout the room.
The setup is awesome. There is (1) large projection TV in the center of the room, (4) 60" big screen TV's, and (10) 30" televisions surrounding the perimeter of the poker room. Best of all, the Harrah's poker room management is VERY accomodating at showing the games poker players want to see. For example, if you have action on the Browns, there is a good chance that if you ask the poker manager, he can get the Browns game on at least one of the tv's for you.
If watching the game is really important then you better be playing poker at Harrah's.
2. Excalibur: The Excalibur poker room doesn't have nearly as many small tv's as Harrah's, but it does have one kick-ass projection TV smack dab in the center of the room. This TV is always showing the BIG game of the day -- whatever that game happens to be. There are also a few tv's on each side of the poker room -- but the giant screen projection tv makes the Excalibur a great place to watch the big one.
3. Bellagio Okay, so the Bellagio poker room isn't exactly known for its great television setup. But, if you pay attention you will notice that there are plasma screen televisions throughout the Bellagio poker room. These TV's often show sports, and there is a good chance that you will find a few of the games here. Also, the Bellagio has the best television setup of the poker rooms that spread higher-limit games, which is one of the main reasons I am listing it. Of course, if you're playing 15/30 your attention really should be on the poker table, not the football game.
