Summary: The upcoming poker room at Treasure Island (TI) opens to the public on April 12th. It will have eight tables spreading mostly lower limit Hold’em along with daily poker tournaments and Sit-N-Gos.
Content: The Treasure Island (TI) poker room is set to open April 12, 2006. Recently, there has been some confusion over the exact opening date, so I spent a few minutes on the phone today with representatives from Treasure Island getting the facts straight. The poker room will open for training purposes on April 10, 2006, but the general public will not be allowed to play until April 12.
The Treasure Island poker room will open with eight poker tables. The TI poker room hopes to offer low-limit to mid-limit games, including $9/18 limit Texas Hold’em and $3-6 No Limit Hold’em, both of which are relatively unusual in Las Vegas.
Daily poker tournaments will be offered at 4:00 AM and 11:00 AM. The buy-ins for these poker tournaments are not yet finalized, but they are expected to cost less than $100 per player, and probably closer to $60. Sit-N-Gos (SNGs) will also be available 24 hours per day.
Below are the limits that the Treasure Island poker room expects to offer:
Limit Texas Hold’em:
$2/4
$4/8
$9/18
$15/30
No Limit Texas Hold’em:
$1-3 with $100 min / $500 max buy-in.
$3-6 with $500 min / $1,000 max buy-in.
