Summary: Several new sources emailed information this week about the upcoming Treasure Island poker room. The poker room is now hiring dealers, and will probably open the first week in April.
Content: Several sources emailed information to All Vegas Poker this week about the upcoming Treasure Island (TI) poker room. One source relayed a conversation with April Melendez, Executive Assistant at TI, who confirmed that TI is in fact opening a poker room. According to this source, the anticipated opening date is April 6, 2006. Other sources mentioned possible opening dates between April 3 - April 10.
Perhaps the most concrete confirmation of the upcoming poker room is from the MGM Mirage job listing website. There you can see that Treasure Island is already hiring dealers, floorpersons, and shift managers for its new poker room.
Here are a few other details about the upcoming poker room that are not yet confirmed.
- 8-12 tables (most sources report 8 tables).
- Same electronic comp tracking system as MGM poker room.
- Limit Hold'em: $2/4, $3/6, and $5/10 w/ half-kill.
- No Limit: $1-3, and $2-5.
- No Omaha, but possibly Stud.
- Rake 10% / $4 max.
Thanks very much to the sources that provided this information.
